We chose this hotel for its proximity to the theaters of NYC which worked well. However, this is a bare bones hotel at best. Room was on the 12th floor and had very minimal amenities. The window air conditioner worked well and the bed was comfortable. Make sure you bring a sound machine to drown out the slamming of doors as people arrive and exit at all hours of night. Sound proofing between rooms was good, but you can hear everything that happens in the hallway. We chose a room in the rear of the hotel to avoid street noise, but didn't realize how quickly and loudly the doors close. The most annoying inconvenience was the fluctuating temperature in the shower which would intermittently lose pressure and occasionally just stop completely before resuming after a few seconds. Lots of food options around and the location worked well for us.

Good room. Great breakfast buffet. Great location.

Location was great if you want to be near Times Square. Like most high rise hotels, waiting for the elevator for over 20 minutes every morning is annoying.

Staff was very friendly & attentive. This hotel suited us just fine for our short trip visiting a nearby friend. Rooms were clean & bathroom very spacious. Beds were comfy. Bottom (2nd) floor was a bit noisy from street noise as expected (cars honking, ambulances) but nothing good earplugs can't help. 3 adult women shared this room just fine. No bells & whistles but no complaints as well.

The people at the front desk were friendly through our stay. Room has kitchen amenities and the room is spacious for NYC. I always stay at Candlewood when I visit the City.
